Compost Products

Maximizing the value of waste products is the underlying theme of the compost production unit. Samson utilizes feedyard waste and a variety of other organic wastes to create a sterile, fertile mix that improves soil health and nutrient composition. The composting process reduces or eliminates weed seeds and plant pathogens. The majority of the compost is used for grain production. Other uses include top soils, gardens and other landscape projects. For grain production, only 2 ton per acre (plus supplemental nitrogen) is needed to maintain soil fertility and 4 ton per acre to build nutrients. Since it is in an organic state, compost may be applied during the fall or winter months without fear of leaching. Compost micro-organisms have also shown to be effective in breaking down the prior year's crop residue. Contact us if you want to discuss using compost in your program or having your waste products turned into a valuable resource.

Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMP)

Samson has a licensed Technical Service Provider who can complete Comprehensive Nutrient Management plans that satisfy requirements for Conservation Activity Plans and DEQ permits. Yearly record keeping services for DEQ permits will also be available. If you are interested in TSP services, please contact Jordan @ 402-606-4096.
